WHAT IS LIP TATTOOING?

There are a few types of lip tattooing that I specialise in - LIP BLUSH, DARK LIP NEUTRALISATION, and RESTORATIVE LIP TATTOOING.

Lip tattooing is a type of cosmetic tattoo where ink is implanted into the skin to create either a sheer blush or a more velvet concentrated colour to your lips. Creating the look of a fuller and more defined shape.

Using a machine the ink is specifically placed into the most upper layers of the skin so as the tattoo is able to soften over time with the skins natural exfoliation process.

To create the best results with my techniques at least two sessions 6-8 weeks apart are required to complete your tattoo. Your second session must be completed within this timeframe. This is due to the nature of your skin and the skin cell turnover that occurs in the natural exfoliation process, lightening the first layer of the tattoo too much for the second sessions ideal result if left too long.

Please not that with darker lips where we are neutralising the tone of the natural pigmentation or working with scarring for restorative tattooing you most likely will require at least three sessions.

WHICH SERVICE AM I LOOKING FOR?

LIP BLUSH

Suited to if you have a light lip tone and you are looking for some colour and definition to be added to your lips enhancing their natural shade or to match a lip stain or lipstick colour.

DAER LIP NEUTRALISING

This service is for a lip that has darker tendencies. Especially if your lip is highly pigmented and you are looking for the colour to be softened, lightened value.

RECONSTRUCTIVE LIP TATTOOING

If you have scarring that has an impact on the shape, for example due to a surgery, accident, or medical condition.

Reservation deposits are taken at the time of your booking to secure your appointment. The remaining will be paid on the day of your appointment.

Booking fees are non refundable. Appointments can be moved once with a minimum of 72 hours notice, changes within this time frame will require a new booking fee.

HOW LONG DOES THE LIP TATTOO LAST?

This is very dependant on each individual, taking into consideration skin types and how you look after the tattoo this includes how you adhere to the aftercare when healing and once healed - both very important to the life of your LIP tattoo.

Generally the timeframe is around 1 to 2 years, however I prefer not to put a time on deciding if you need a colour refresh and rather ask each person to gauge this by how the colour is softening over time.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO BOOK FOR A COLOUR REFRESH?

When your tattoo is 50% or more faded this is a good time to consider having your tattoo refreshed. I ask for you to wait at least this long so as to ensure that your lips do not become over pigmented.

Disclaimer:

Your second session must be completed in the time frame outlined. After this time frame, you may need a longer appointment or to start again.

Colour refreshers are recommended approximately 1-2 years to maintain shape, colour and detail, I do not recommend you coming in too soon to avoid over pigmentation.

Refresh appointments are available to existing clients, if you have existing work from elsewhere please get in touch via email or through the contact page to see if I am able to work with your existing tattoo.

You are ready for your refresh when your tattoo is feeling as though it is lacking in saturation. I do not recommend adding pigment to the skin too soon.

For all tattooing 72 business hours notice is required if you decide to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Failure to do so could result in a lost deposit.
